The BJP leader of Jammu & Kashmir, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has used a harsh word on the Kashmir issue and said it will not be resolved peacefully by any party.
“It’s a matter of Kashmiris being able to determine their own future.
It’s a question of Kashmiri sovereignty,” he told a press conference on Saturday.
“We don’t have any other solution than the Kashmiri solution,” he said, adding that the state is in dire need of a solution.
Rahman also hit out at the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying it is seeking a new mandate in the state.
Rahman has been the MP for Jammu in the last four years.
He is currently in charge of a Jammu-based unit of the ruling AIADMK led by the late LK Advani.
In a statement on Friday, the party said that it will fight against the DSP and the government over the matter.
The party said it has already met with representatives of the Jammu police and intelligence agencies.
The PDP has been in power in the region since 1995.
This is the second time in less than a week that the AIADK leader has lashed out at Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who has been critical of the ongoing Kashmir dispute.
Last week, Tharoon said that he was not satisfied with the way in which Congress was addressing the Kashmiris and said that the Congress was a party that would take up its responsibility.
