The latest version of the Mango software suite has been launched.
It’s a bit of a re-launch after it was initially launched last year.
Mango was a standalone application developed by Google, and was initially used in collaboration with the Google+ Hangouts app.
It now offers the ability to create a group chat and a messaging client, with other tools and a unified front end for other apps, as well as adding in the ability for a developer to create custom chat apps.
Mango also has an improved API for creating and maintaining group chats, as a group of users can now be managed by the same developer and have their own chat server, instead of needing to download a separate application for each group chat.
This means the group chat will no longer require a separate app, and can be managed through the same application.
This is particularly useful for larger groups, and the team at Mango are currently looking at bringing the new tools to the Google Hangouts mobile app, which is currently in the testing phase.
Google is not alone in its quest to get the Manda tools onto mobile, and has recently been working with Facebook to bring its messaging platform to mobile devices, as reported by TechCrunch.
